John Tyler Community College recently received the Quality Matters Online Learner Support certification.
Quality Matters Awarded this certification after a more than yearlong review process that examined Tyler’s services supporting the online learning experience. These services include the Introduction to Online and Hybrid Learning (free, five-day) workshop, Blackboard Basics Bootcamp, technical support and online resources offered to students. The review team, which included members from Kent State, Portland Community College, and Concord University, also considered feedback from students, and how Tyler responded to those comments as it works to improve students’ online experiences.
“The Online Learner Support certification communicates to students, faculty and staff that John Tyler Community College has the resources and mechanisms in place to ensure student success in online courses,” says Kenyada McLeod, coordinator of online learning.
