Each spring, the talents of Tyler’s art students go on display in the college’s Juried Student Art Show. The show features a wide array of artwork, which can include photography, 3-D sculpture, graphic design, painting, animation, ceramics and drawing.  This year’s show is being juried by Jason Hackett, a faculty member and studio manager for VCU’s Department of Craft/Material Studies.

The 2019 Juried Student Art Show opens Friday, April 12 at 5:00 p.m. with a reception (hosted by Tyler’s Art Club) and the announcement of this year’s award recipients. The show, which will be on display in the Tyler Gallery, will remain up through April 29. The opening reception and the exhibit are free and open to the community.

The Tyler Gallery is located on the first floor of Eliades Hall at John Tyler Community College’s Midlothian Campus. The gallery’s normal operating hours are Monday – Wednesday from 12:00 – 5:00 p.m. and Thursday – Friday from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m.
