CHESTER and MIDLOTHIAN, Va. – The Chronicle of Higher Education recently named John Tyler Community College to its list of “Great Colleges to Work For.” Each year, The Chronicle, in partnership with Modern Think LLC, conducts employee surveys at and gathers information from colleges and universities across the United States. This year, 253 colleges and universities, including 88 two-year colleges, participated in the survey, which is open to all accredited higher education institutions with enrollments of at least 500. Participants are scored in 12 categories. Tyler was recognized in more than half of those categories, including Compensation & Benefits; Facilities, Workspace & Security; Job Satisfaction; Professional/Career Development Programs; Respect and Appreciation; Supervisor/Department Chair Relationship; and Work/Life Balance. The college was also named to the Honor Roll, which recognizes institutions most frequently mentioned in the 12 categories.
“It is an honor for John Tyler Community College to be named to The Chronicle’s ‘Great Colleges to Work For’ list,” said Dr. Edward “Ted” Raspiller, the college’s president. “At Tyler, we value our faculty and staff and the many talents they share with our students and with each other. We strive to provide a friendly, supportive, collaborative and inclusive work environment that allows our all our employees to thrive.”
