CHESTER and MIDLOTHIAN, Va. – Technology impacts us in so many ways. It helps us perform tasks; gives us access to resources; runs our power grids and automobiles; keeps us in touch with family and friends; and so much more. We rely upon it for work and in our personal lives, and while technology is often an asset, it can present dangers. Stories about stolen bank information, credit card numbers, tax records, health documents, photographs and identities are frequently in the headlines, as are tales of online bullying, stalking, scams and threats.

Learn what steps you can take to protect yourself and your family against online risks by attending Safe and Secure Online Training, hosted by John Tyler Community College in partnership with ISC2 Richmond Metro Chapter. During this event, security experts will share their expertise, providing guidance on practices people of all ages can use to stay safe while online. Safe and Secure Online Training will take place Saturday, October 22, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. in Hamel Hall, room H109 at Tyler’s Midlothian Campus, located at 800 Charter Colony Parkway. There is no charge to attend, and this event is open to adults and children. Registration is required.
