Excitement is building as John Tyler Community College prepares for its forty-eighth annual Commencement Ceremony on Friday, May 13. The Honorable Maurice Jones, Virginia’s Secretary of Commerce and Trade will be on hand as we honor the achievements of more than 1200 graduates during the ceremony. Among those celebrating will be military veterans who came to Tyler to pursue new skills; students who will be completing their college and high school educations simultaneously; parents who’ve been balancing family responsibilities, jobs and classwork; men and women who are on a path to a bachelor’s degree or who are about to enter the workforce; and first-generation college students who are about to become college graduates. You can find out more about some of our graduates by visiting our Snapshots of the Class of 2016 page.
We hope you will join us as we recognize the accomplishments of our graduates; the support given by their family and friends; and the commitment of Tyler’s faculty and staff.
The festivities kick off at 6:30 p.m. at the Midlothian Campus between Hamel Hall and the T Building. If you are unable to join us for the ceremony but want to enjoy the celebration, you you can watch video of the ceremony as it is live streamed. You can also follow the fun on our Facebook and Twitter feeds, and you can add your own photos and messages, using #tylergrads.
