Help Wanted: Health-care Workers

Have you always wanted to help people? Are you interested in a career that is rewarding and challenging? Would you like to find out how you can train for a career in health care? If you answered questions to one or more of these questions, then stop by the John Tyler Community College’s Health Care Career Fair on November 16. 

Representatives from area health-care employers will be on hand to talk about current job opportunities is this diverse field. Employers include: 

  • Bon Secours Health System
  • Care Advantage, Inc.
  • Central State Hospital
  • Chesterfield Fire & EMS 
  • CJW Medical Center
  • Gateway Healthcare Providers 
  • Golden Living Center
  • Greenfield Senior Living
  • HCA – Capital Division
  • Henrico Doctors’ Hospital
  • Heritage Hall – Blackstone
  • U.S. Renal Care
  • Westminster Canterbury

For those interested in training for a career in health care, John Tyler Community College staff will be available to talk about the College’s majors, including nursing, pre-BSN, paramedic, EMS (advanced and intermediate) and more. There also will be information about the labs and high-tech simulators used in many of Tyler’s programs and about industry certifications and licensures that can be obtained through these majors.  

In addition, those want to continue their education beyond the associate degree level will have the opportunity to talk to representatives from four-year colleges and universities that offer degree completion programs in health care, including: Averett University, Bluefield College, Central Michigan University, Central Texas College, Mary Baldwin College, Old Dominion University and University of Phoenix.

Tyler’s Health Care Career Fair will take place at the Midlothian Campus from 12:00 – 3:00 p.m. in Hamel Hall, room H109. Attendees are encouraged to bring their resumes.
