Join John Tyler Community College’s faculty, staff and students as we honor past and present members of the armed services during the College’s annual Veterans Day ceremony on November 11, 2014. The ceremony will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Nicholas Center on the College’s Chester Campus.
Dr. L. Ray Drinkwater, vice president of student affairs at John Tyler, will deliver the keynote address, commemorating the 100th anniversary of World War I. Dr. Drinkwater’s presentation will examine the human dimension of The Great War, particularly as it pertains to the impact the conflict had on the individuals who fought on the front lines.
The ceremony also will include recognition of Tyler’s faculty, staff and student veterans; a memorial tree planting; and the display of a high mobility multiple wheel vehicle (HMMWV) by Fort Lee.
